Custom Reports and Forms

When standard reports do not meet the needs of a customer, we work with our clients to develop custom reports. The bulk of reports that Harvest Ventures creates for our clients are done in Crystal Reports and (increasingly more) in SSRS (SQL Service Reporting Services) which is part of Microsoft SQL Server services.

Writing custom reports ideally occurs within the pilot phase of implementation, but sometimes also after a system has gone live. When clients communicate their needs early on in the implementation process, having customizations ready prior to going live is preferable.

Custom reports can often help with user adoption. By reproducing a report that users are accustomed to in the new ERP system, the transition can seem less daunting.

Custom reports are also useful for industry specific reports and information views that may not necessarily be available ‘out of the box’.

It is advisable to limit the number of reports that are customized as the task of managing and maintaining these reports can negate the efficiencies they were expected to provide in the first place.

Exact ERP software offers a great deal of flexibility when it comes to reporting an analyzing the information in the system. Combined with the power of the reports available out of the box, businesses have a significant level of visibility into their information.
