EXACT MACOLA EVOLVE 2016 - WHAT'S NEW? WHY ATTEND?
Exact Macola users have been happy with the content provided at Exact Macola Evolve as well as the opportunity to network with other users and speak one-on-one with Exact and partners.
We think the following additions to the conference line-up will add significant value to you this year:
Technical Training Classes
Different from breakout sessions, technical training classes will run Friday morning (April 22nd).
There will be nine classes eligible for one CPE credit per class. These classes are free and run for one hour.
There will be two classes that run for three hours in length. There is an added fee to attend these classes and they are eligible for three CPE credits per class.
Roundtable Discussions
For the 2016 conference, Exact is introducing some roundtable discussions.
These roundtable discussions will allow small groups of like-minded individuals get together to discuss topics that are of interest to them. There will be a facilitator for each roundtable that will guide the conversation around the topic at hand

ENCRYPTION VIRUS - PROTECTING YOUR BUSINESS
Not such a jolly topic for the holidays but a necessary one.
Over the past several months, a few clients have been hit with an encryption virus that essentially takes your files hostage by encrypting them, forcing you to pay a ransom for the encryption key.
This is not something we see very often but thought it was worth sending a reminder to make sure your business has systems and protocols in place to deal with such a situation.
As you can imagine, this can be a debilitating situation, especially if you are not prepared.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- Make sure your data is backed up.
- Also make sure you check to make sure your backup is running correctly and that it can easily be restored.
- Have an emergency plan in place so that your business can function for a short time without your computer system in the event of a hardware failure, power outage, virus or other cause.
- If you suspect unusual activity with your computer or your network, contact your hardware and networking provider.
- It is a good idea to make sure all users know who to contact should they experience anything unusual in their day-to-day computer work.
